(CNN Spanish) — An earthquake measuring 6.3 was registered near the coast of the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico, according to information from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The depth of the earthquake off the coast of El Palmarcito was 35 km, according to the USGS.
So far, authorities have not reported any damage in the area.
The US National Tsunami Center has not issued a tsunami warning.
