The measure was agreed during a meeting held this Saturday at the White House in Washington by delegations from the United States and Colombia, the statement explains.
“During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to open new and flexible legal pathways to reduce irregular immigration. They agreed to proceed, starting June 19, with a first phase of implementation of the Safe Mobility Offices (SMO ) of six months in duration, receiving requests, for the purpose of identifying and registering irregular migrants who, to date, are present in the country and advising them on safe, regular and legal migration routes”, indicated in the press release.
