(CNN Spanish) — The National Comprehensive Assistance Service for Adults Deprived of Their Liberty and Delinquent Adolescents of Ecuador has reported through a publication that the security and prison surveillance body of Chimborazo prison has found three dead prisoners for the first time.
Authorities said prison security personnel found the lifeless bodies with signs of a possible hanging.
Officials are in the process of removing the bodies and investigating the case, the statement added.
The authorities stressed that the prison security forces and police normally carry out their activities in all prisons in the country and the security protocols remain active.
