The May 26 Popocatépetl volcano report states that no explosions were recorded
By CNN Spain
Like every day, the authorities of the National Coordination of Civil Protection have published a report with the latest updates on the Popocatépetl volcano.
Despite the maintenance of the Volcanic Warning Light at Amarillo Phase 3, some signs may indicate that activity is decreasing.
“From 05:00 to 15:00 the shock signal persists, its attitude continues to decrease; there were also small exhalations. No explosions were recorded during this period,” the authority said in a declaration.
And he adds: “It should be noted that the tendency to decrease the amplitude of the seismic signal of high-frequency tremor prevails”.

This is the military monitoring center where they observe the activity of the Popocatépetl volcano
By Eduardo Serralde
In Puebla, Mexico, there is the “Popocatépetl” Monitoring Center, a room that the soldiers of the 25th military zone occupy around the clock to monitor the activity of the Popocatepetl Volcano. Despite reporting a decline in its activity, the volcano remains yellow phase 3 at the traffic light alert.

Puebla authorities released this Friday afternoon a new report on the latest updates on the Popocatépetl volcano, one of the most dangerous in Mexico.
In the report, they highlight this the volcanic warning light remains on Yellow Phase 3, and again urging the population not to go near the volcano.
Additionally, the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) has reported activity over the past 24 hours, logging:
▪59 exhalations
▪1101 minutes of shock
▪138 minutes of expiratory sequence.
The government is monitoring Popocatepetl “day and night,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said after the volcano put on another fire show overnight.
How many times has Popocatépetl volcano erupted in the last 500 years?
The Popocatépetl volcano is one of Mexico’s most active and is considered one of the most dangerous for the nearly 25 million inhabitants who live within 100 kilometers of its crater, according to authorities. What were the moments of greatest activity that were recorded? Here we tell you.
Authorities indicate that a lava dome is not observed at Popocatépetl volcano
The National Coordination of Civil Protection of Mexico reported that the Scientific Advisory Committee of Popocatépetl, after an analysis of the videos taken by a drone that flew over the volcano, indicates that there is no presence of a lava dome, that the crater ” filled significantly by the emitted fragmented magmatic material” and that the activity during the previous three days “consisted of the emission of ash and incandescent fragments associated with the tremor recording of fluctuating duration and amplitude”.
In this sense, says the agency, “the most probable scenario in the short term is that a similar activity continues”, namely: tremors of high frequency and variable amplitude, some explosions “of minor to moderate entity”.
They also indicate that ash emissions and the ejection of incandescent fragments can be expected within the 12 kilometer exclusion radius.

This is the activity of the Popocatépetl volcano this Friday
Mexico’s National Coordination of Civil Protection said in its report at 5 am this Friday that the Popocatépetl volcano continues at a phase 3 yellow alert level and that no explosions have been recorded.
“A 700m-high column appears with continuous emission of water vapor and gas in a southeasterly direction,” the agency said.
The CNPC indicates that between Thursday and Friday there was a “tendency to decrease the seismic amplitude of the shock”.

See where the ash from the volcano would end up
The Civil Defense of Puebla communicated which municipalities would be affected by the emission of ash.
HYSPLIT is the hybrid Lagrangian integrated trajectory model of a single particle. This is a computer model used to calculate the trajectories of air parcels to determine how far and in which direction they will travel.
🌋 The HYSPLIT model indicates that the ash, in the event of emissions from the Popocatépetl volcano, could go south, affecting the Municipalities:

What the May 25 report says about the Popocatépetl volcano
On Thursday evening, the National Center for Disaster Prevention, Cenapred, said: in the latest official report, That
follow the tremor signal in the volcano and that “at the moment its amplitude continues to decrease”.
The body points out that “sporadically it was possible to observe an emission of steam and low ash content gases in a south-southeast direction”.
Follow the volcanic warning light in phase 3 yellow, according to the latest concept of the Popocatépetl Volcano Scientific Advisory Board on May 24.
Therefore, the exclusion radius remains 12 km.
What safety action should be followed if activity increases at Popocatépetl volcano in Mexico?
More than 20 million people are at risk from the activity of the Popocatépetl volcano in Mexico. Germán Campos explains to CNN Primera Mañana what security operation should be followed in the event of an increase in the alert level.
