The forecast of torrential rains remains in Guerrero and Oaxaca

(Cnn in Spanish) — On Thursday, Mexico’s National Weather Service said in a statement that torrential rains are expected in Guerrero and Oaxaca and heavy rains in Chiapas, Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit and Veracruz.

The service also forecasts very heavy rains in Mexico State and Tabasco, as well as heavy rains in Mexico City, Guanajuato, Morelos and Puebla.

The authorities added that wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h and waves two to four meters high are expected on the coasts of Guerrero and Oaxaca, as well as waves of one to three meters on the coasts of Colima, Jalisco and Michoacán.

The statement also added that due to Tropical Storm Beatriz, a hurricane warning zone is maintained from Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, to Playa Pérula, Jalisco, and a hurricane watch zone from Playa Pérula to Cabo Corrientes, both from Jalisco.

Also maintained is a tropical storm impact prevention zone from Zihuatanejo to Punta Maldonado, Guerrero, and a tropical storm impact surveillance zone from Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, to Punta Mita, Nayarit.

In addition, the authorities said that heavy rains are expected in the areas of Campeche, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas, as well as showers (5 to 25 mm) in Aguascalientes, Durango, Hidalgo, Quintana Roo, Querétaro, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas. , Tlaxcala and Yucatán, and that electric shocks and hail may occur.
