
(CNN Spanish) — The Secretary of State at the Office of Security through the Honduran National Police reported in a statement that this Friday, July 7, at the Office of the President of the Legislative Branch, the food addressed to its president, the deputy Luis Rolando Redondo and, as part of safety protocols, they carried out an inspection where they found a substance that looked like ground glass, for which they issued a warning.
The alert is a protocol in which access to the person affected by an event like this is limited to better manage their safety and also their diet.
CNN has been trying to contact Redondo since the incident became known, so far without success.
In the process to clarify the matter, the government said teams of specialists from all the state’s intelligence and investigative departments had been appointed.
The Directorate of Investigative Police has collected food samples to submit them to scientific expertise and the results are awaited.
As part of safety protocols, the National Police Health Directorate said it will maintain a high alert level in the event of any emergency involving or affecting lawmakers or congressional workers.
